What Is Feng Huang Dan Cong (Pheonix Wu Long)?

Fruity, floral, tannic, and super aromatic, Feng Huang Dan Cong (also known as Phoenix Oolong Tea) has such pleasant and showy qualities unparalleled by any other kind of loose leaf tea. These qualities have led it to become one of the most popular Wu Longs (Oolong) on the market.

History of Ba Xian

Origin:  Ya Hou, Feng Huang Shan (Phoenix Mountain), Chao Zhou, Guang Dong Province, China (~900m elevation)

Ba Xian is one of the most prized varietals of Dan Cong. Our Ba Xian is harvested from ancient tea trees 60 to 100-years-old in the where this cultivar originated from, Ya Hou. A highly sought-after mossy and woodsy note comes through from older tea trees. This particular note is called Cong Wei in Chinese, and this Ba Xian has it throughout.

Eight Immortals

Ba Xian gets its name from eight ancient tea trees that relate to the famous Eight Immortals in Chinese mythology.
