About Our Wu Liang Shan
Wu Liang Shan is a mountain in the northern region of Yun Nan Province to the north of Ba Na. It sits at about ~2050m elevation.
Our heritage farm partners here make our Wu Liang Shan Pu Er, Bai Cha (white tea) and now this Dian Hong red tea! Wu Liang Shan has long been praised for its beauty and magnificence throughout history and popular culture.
Wu Liang Shan Bai Cha
This tea is made by the same tea maker that makes our Wu Liang Shan Pu Er Sheng Cha. The same old tree (200-600 years old) material was used in both teas. They did this tea using the traditional Fu Ding technique, which is very rare for the region and led to a much cleaner and more sophisticated profile.
Dian Hong
Dian Hong is a style of red tea made from large-leaf cultivars in Yun Nan Province. The style stabilized in the 1930s and is known for being deeply sweet and having a fuller body in comparison to its peers. Dian is the acronym for Yun Nan and Hong means red. Given that red tea is called black tea in the west, Dian Hong is commonly translated to Yun Nan black. This batch is handcrafted by ethnic Yi people from ancient tea trees 200-600 years old.
